I stand for making Northshore School District better, and we can make it better through improving
1. Transparency,
2. Responsiveness, and
3. Paths to Success for All Students
I earned a PhD in Government Accounting, and I will help Northshore succeed financially and work to prevent future problems before they become Audit Findings.
I served as Chair of the University of Washington Evans School Diversity Committee, and I will ensure that every Northshore student feels safe and is given the tools to succeed in a just, fair, and equitable manner.
I was chosen as President of the Oregon Public Performance Management Association, and I will use established, science-based best practices to improve Northshore’s governance, staff, and processes to make NSD the best school district in the State of Washington.
I was elected as President of the Association for Government Accountants, Seattle Chapter, and I will bring success to Northshore just like I took the AGA Seattle Chapter from Bronze-ranked to Platinum-ranked in a single year.
Together with my community, I founded Northshore Citizens for Transparency, and I will continue to work to make this district even better, because I know that public organizations do their best work when they are openly and honestly engaged with the community.
Together with my wife, I am a parent of two wonderful Northshore students, and I know that helping students and their families succeed is the most important task Northshore School District can engage in.
Together with you, we can work together to make this district better. Please vote for Ken Smith for Northshore School Board.
